Late Night with Seth Meyers: Oprah’s Favorite Things and Rebecca Ferguson

Late Night With Seth Meyers

It’s that time of year again, when the mere utterance of “Oprah’s Favorite Things” causes a ripple effect of excitement (or eye-rolls, depending on your cynicism levels) across the media landscape. Gayle King joins Seth Meyers on Tuesday to preview the annual consumerist extravaganza, no doubt triggering a flurry of online shopping carts filling up faster than you can say “bon appétit.” Look, it’s a tradition, and traditions die hard, even when they involve breathlessly promoting luxury goods to the masses.

Joining King is Rebecca Ferguson, star of Apple TV+’s “Silo.” The dystopian drama, set entirely within a giant underground…well, you get it, has proven to be a solid performer for the streamer. Ferguson, who plays an engineer grappling with the silo’s many secrets (and probably some faulty wiring), will likely offer some tidbits about the upcoming second season. Have a look at the trailer for season 2 below.

Honestly, while Ferguson’s presence is welcome, it’s clear that Oprah’s Favorite Things is the main event here. Expect a deluge of product placements and enthusiastic endorsements from King, as she unveils Oprah’s meticulously chosen items, from high-end kitchen gadgets to designer pet carriers. While the spectacle might feel a bit excessive for some, it’s undeniable that Oprah’s endorsement still holds considerable sway. Who knows, maybe this year’s list will include something genuinely useful, like a self-folding laundry basket or a noise-canceling device for political discourse.
