Law & Order: Inherent Bias (NBC, Thursday, April 10, 2025)

Law & Order Key Art

“Law & Order” returns this Thursday with a case that looks to test the very foundations of justice. When a rising basketball star turns up dead, the squad scrambles to find answers, but the investigation quickly hits a snag, one that originates within their own ranks. Detectives Shaw and Riley, partners on the case, offer up starkly different accounts of what happened during a suspect’s arrest.

These conflicting narratives threaten to derail the entire investigation. “Inherent Bias,” the episode’s title, hints at the thorny issues at play. Is one detective’s version of events colored by prejudice? Are there deeper systemic problems within the department that this case is bringing to light?

The episode sets up a compelling conflict, not just between the detectives but also within the larger framework of law enforcement. It raises questions about accountability, procedure, and the biases – both conscious and unconscious – that can influence the pursuit of justice. Will the truth emerge despite the internal friction?
