This week’s “Law & Order: SVU,” titled “Calculated,” starts with a seemingly straightforward case of teen sexting, only to spiral into a much larger investigation. When a high school principal discovers a student engaged in sexting, he brings the case to SVU, assuming it’s an isolated incident. However, the detectives soon uncover a pattern of distribution impacting hundreds of underage students. Suddenly, what appeared to be a minor infraction transforms into a major crime.
Detective Silva, however, suspects that one of the individuals caught in the net might be innocent. This leads her to push for leniency, potentially clashing with her colleagues.
“Calculated” looks to explore the complicated intersection of technology, adolescence, and criminal behavior. It also seems set to test the detectives’ ability to find justice while also protecting vulnerable individuals. Tune in to NBC this Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 9/8c to see how the SVU handles this sensitive case.
