Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent: Canadian Dream (Citytv, Thursday, May 1, 2025)

Law & Order Toronto Criminal Intent

Citytv’s “Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent” returns with a double dose of tragedy this Thursday. In “Canadian Dream,” Detectives Graff and Bateman face a case that intertwines the lives of a high-flying tech CEO and a young delivery driver, both victims of a seemingly random shooting in a parking lot.

While the CEO’s murder initially suggests a targeted hit, the death of the delivery driver throws a wrench into the investigation. Was it a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or is there a connection between the victims that Graff and Bateman need to uncover? As they dig deeper, the detectives must unravel the tangled threads of ambition, greed, and desperation that make up the dark side of the so-called “Canadian Dream.”

“Law & Order Toronto,” as with its American counterparts, leans into the psychological aspects of criminal investigations. Don’t expect straightforward procedural beats. The series aims to explore the “why” behind the crime, examining the minds of both the perpetrators and the victims. This approach gives the familiar “Law & Order” formula a fresh coat of paint, or perhaps a splash of maple syrup, depending on your perspective.
