Sky Max’s “A League of Their Own” is trading its usual studio setting for a high-octane rally, pitting some familiar faces against each other in a race from London to Turin. Think less “Amazing Race” and more “Wacky Races,” but with considerably more British banter.
Jill Scott, Maisie Adam, Micah Richards, Tom Davis, and Jamie Redknapp are gearing up for a six-stage competition that will test their driving skills (or lack thereof), their navigational prowess (again, possibly lacking), and most importantly, their ability to keep a straight face while facing ridiculous challenges. The ALOTO Rally Cup is at stake, and these personalities aren’t known for backing down from a good-natured brawl.
Forget planes, trains, and automobiles; this rally seems to involve all of the above and then some. From treacherous off-road escapades to navigating the bustling streets of Paris, the teams will be racking up points as they race towards the finish line in Turin, a city famous for its connection to “The Italian Job.” One can only hope this means a Mini Cooper or two might be involved.
Expect scenic routes through iconic locations like Lake Geneva and the Alps, with plenty of laughs along the way. “A League of Their Own The Rally” looks set to offer a blend of travelogue, sports competition, and the show’s trademark humor. It airs Tuesday, 25. March on Sky Max.
