Prepare for a brick-building brawl of cosmic proportions as “LEGO Masters Australia” returns with a supersized twist. “Grandmasters of the Galaxy” pits the best brick-slingers from around the globe against each other in a battle for LEGO supremacy, a cool $100,000, and bragging rights that stretch to the far reaches of the brick-built universe.
Ten teams of two—champions and fan favorites from six countries—will face off in a series of challenges designed to push their creative and construction skills to the limit. Think Harry Potter magic, flying LEGO contraptions, monstrous creations, and ancient civilizations brought to life in brick form. Returning host Hamish Blake and resident LEGO expert Ryan “Brickman” McNaught will preside over the controlled chaos, with Sophie Monk joining the fun for four episodes.
Australia’s contenders bring a formidable mix of talent and experience. Season 1 runners-up David and G, the exploration drilling workers from Western Australia, return with their signature mechanically inspired builds. Gabby and Owen, a proven powerhouse pairing with multiple top finishes between them, combine Gabby’s creative vision with Owen’s engineering expertise. Season 1 champions Henry and Cade are back to reclaim their crown, relying on their proven collaborative approach. And Trent, known for his playful creations, teams up with storytelling expert Alex, both hungry for their first win after near misses in past seasons.
The international contingent is equally impressive. Canadian champions Nick and Stacey (recognizable by their LEGO bowties) add their acting, hosting, and streaming experience to the mix. Dai and Jiayuan, runners-up from LEGO Masters China, bring a potent combination of teamwork and LEGO passion. Finnish champions Oskari and Aura promise creativity and a touch of chaos. New Zealand runners-up Emily and Sarah, the self-proclaimed “LEGO mums,” aim for a “girl power” victory. Swedish duo Vidar and Albin, a stop-motion animator and a detail-oriented technician, round out the competition alongside American siblings Paul and Nealita, who honed their collaborative skills on their original season.
“LEGO Masters Australia: Grandmasters of the Galaxy” premieres Sunday, 1 June at 7:00 PM AEST on Channel 9 and 9Now.
