Lifetime’s “Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted by Love” Rounds out Cast

Lifetime announces the completion of the cast for its upcoming untitled Terry McMillan Presents film, now titled “Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted by Love.” The movie, set to premiere on August 17, stars and is executive produced by Garcelle Beauvais, marking the latest project in her extended collaboration with the network.

“Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted by Love” boasts a stellar ensemble, including Vaughn W. Hebron, who also serves as a co-producer, and notable actors Lela Rochon and Loretta Devine, who reunite after their memorable roles in Terry McMillan’s feature film “Waiting to Exhale.” Donna Biscoe rounds out the leading roles.

The film follows Ava (Beauvais), a world-class chef based in Europe, who returns to South Carolina to care for her ailing aunt (Biscoe). On her way home, she meets Luke (Hebron), a charismatic driver two decades her junior, and sparks fly as they discover a mutual passion for food, family, and fun. Despite their age difference, Ava and Luke’s connection is undeniable, but Ava must grapple with choices that could impact her career and personal life.

With a focus on the love stories of African American women, “Terry McMillan Presents” movies are an engaging addition to Lifetime’s programming.

“Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted by Love” is executive produced by D’Angela Proctor for Undaunted Content, in association with GroupM Motion Entertainment. Terry McMillan and Garcelle Beauvais also serve as executive producers, alongside Richard Foster and Chet Fenster for GroupM Motion Entertainment. The film is directed by Taliah Breon and written by Tamara T. Gregory.
