The upcoming BET+ adult animated series, “Lil Kev,” has just beefed up its already stellar cast. Alongside Kevin Hart, familiar faces like Gerald “Slink” Johnson, Jamar Neighbors, Cree Summer, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, and Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams will lend their voices to the show set to premiere on March 6, 2025.
“Lil Kev” takes viewers back to 1993 North Philadelphia, where a young Kevin Hart navigates life with an overactive imagination and unrelenting optimism. These traits often clash with the realities of his tough neighborhood. The show also features Kevin’s hard-working mother, Nancy (voiced by Tichina Arnold), who juggles night shifts as an E.R. nurse. She has an uphill battle keeping Kevin on the straight and narrow. Especially with his troublemaking older brother Robert (Neighbors), outlandish father Henry (Johnson), and ex-con uncle Richard Jr. (Cole) around.
Among the new cast members:
Gerald “Slink” Johnson plays Henry, Kevin’s well-meaning but struggling father battling addiction.
Jamar Neighbors voices Robert, Kevin’s cynical older brother who constantly reminds him to “keep it real.”
Cree Summer is Gerald, Kevin’s quick-witted best friend who isn’t afraid to trade barbs.
Anjelah Johnson-Reyes takes on Marisol, Nancy’s street-smart best friend and coworker.
Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams voices Tiki, a fiery woman with a love for hair appointments and casino gambling.
Other guest stars include Wé Ani, Mo Collins, Affion Crockett, Tyree Elaine, Justin Hires, Rick Ingraham, Jayden Libran, Freddy Lockhart, and Aiko Tanaka.
The series is executive produced by a team including Kevin Hart, Bryan Smiley, Jeff Clanagan, Mike Stein, and Candice Wilson Cherry for Hartbeat. Matthew Claybrooks and Michael Price serve as EPs and showrunners.
