Great American Family is dusting off Louisa May Alcott’s well-worn novel for a holiday reimagining, A Little Women’s Christmas. Trading Concord, Massachusetts for a small Tennessee town, this contemporary adaptation sets the familiar March sisters against a backdrop of twinkling lights and yuletide cheer. The network seems to be banking on nostalgia and star power to draw viewers, assembling a cast that mixes familiar TV movie faces with a dash of Broadway flair.
Jen Lilley takes on the role of the sensible Meg March, while Trevor Donovan plays her love interest, Friedrich “Fritz” Baehr. Broadway veteran Laura Osnes steps into the shoes of the kind-hearted Beth, with Jillian Murray as the fiery Jo, and Julia Reilly as the youngest sister, Amy.
