A television adaptation of William Golding’s novel, Lord of the Flies, is in production, bringing the story to the small screen for the first time. The four-part limited series, a collaboration between Australian streamer Stan and the BBC, is currently filming in Malaysia.

The series is written by Jack Thorne, a multi-BAFTA award-winning writer. His adaptation will investigate the emotional depth of the original novel, focusing on human nature, the loss of innocence, and the intricacies of boyhood masculinity. Each episode will focus on a different character, offering a unique viewpoint on their survival challenges and the breakdown of order on the island.
