A murder mystery with a cryptozoological twist? Lost Monster Files tackles the curious case of the Minnesota Ice Man, a sideshow attraction that apparently vanished into thin air.
The creature’s body, once examined by Ivan Sanderson himself, becomes the center of a stranger-than-fiction investigation. Was the Ice Man a genuine cryptid, a clever hoax, or something in between? And who was responsible for its disappearance? Rival sideshow owners? Government agents? Or did it simply melt away on a particularly warm Minnesota day?
This new Discovery Channel series revisits Sanderson’s investigations into unexplained creatures, dusting off old files and grainy photographs. I’m enjoying the series so far, the premise is intriguing although the challenge lies in presenting the material with a degree of skepticism, avoiding the tendency towards sensationalism that often plagues these types of shows.
