WE tv is about to drop Love After Lockup: Crime Story, a spin-off that flips the script, showing viewers the events that led to incarceration before romance blossomed behind bars. Premiering on Friday, February 7th at 8pm ET/PT / 7pm CT, and streaming on ALLBLK, this limited series dives into the pasts of familiar faces from Love After Lockup. Forget the prison exits and the embraces; this show reveals the crimes that put these individuals on a path to prison.
The series features a mix of past and present cast members who return to where their troubles began, sharing their personal “origin stories”. Lindsey from Corinth, Mississippi, recounts her days as a drug dealer, explaining how she lost everything, despite having money, houses, and cars. Garrett, from Tampa, Florida, recalls how drug use caused a long list of arrests and how he’s now trying to gain his father’s forgiveness. Brittany, from Las Vegas, remembers a time as a teen where she became involved with the wrong people after being separated from her sister. Cameron, from Cincinnati, Ohio, reflects on his history of cashing fraudulent checks.
Louie, from Highlands, New Jersey, reveals his drug dealing days. Lizzie, from Portage, Wisconsin, seeks to reconnect with a friend she hasn’t seen since a pre-prison party in California that ended with a second arrest. Quaylon, from Olathe, Kansas, remembers how a shoplifting incident landed him in juvenile detention. Lisa, from Salem, Missouri, revisits the site of a drug bust and talks with her brother about their shared criminal history. Michael, from Providence, Rhode Island, explains how he began selling drugs to support his family. Destinie, from Redding, California, discusses how a difficult childhood led to drug use and crime. Amber, from Atlanta, Georgia, talks about her time as a “drug kingpin”. Lastly, Mikey from Richwood, Ohio, confronts his town sheriff after missing his mother’s final years due to his prison sentence.
Will Garrett’s father give his son a second chance, following his past crimes? Or will Mikey finally gain closure by facing his town sheriff in person? It is produced by Sharp Entertainment, with Matt Sharp, Dan Adler and Alan Madison serving as executive producers alongside We TV’s Angela Molloy and Lisa Marie Angelo.
