In the romantic movie “Love on the Danube: Kissing Stars,” Sarah Power and Brendan Penny take the lead roles. It premieres on Hallmark’s relaunched streaming service and membership rewards program, Hallmark+, on Thursday night.
The film follows Savannah, a public relations professional specializing in non-profits, who faces an unexpected layoff just when she expects a promotion. Her best friend, Teddy, the director of a riverboat cruise hosting a Rom-Com fan convention called KissCon, offers her a temporary position working with talent during the cruise. Despite her reluctance to work with celebrities, Savannah accepts the gig.
She is assigned to Tripp, an actor from Montana who is struggling to adjust to his newfound fame and connect with his fans. Throughout the cruise, Savannah helps Tripp improve his public image, and as they spend time together at events and on excursions, they begin to fall in love. However, they face a challenge in conducting a relationship in the public eye.
As the story builds to its climax, Tripp makes a grand gesture, confessing his love in front of all the fans. The movie concludes with the couple deciding to pursue their relationship, with Savannah starting her own PR firm and accompanying Tripp to Montana. The film also teases the next installment (of which there are three) by introducing the heroes of the subsequent movie as Savannah and Tripp depart the riverboat.
