ITV2 is firing up the companion engines once again with the return of Love Island: Aftersun, set to air alongside the mothership’s twelfth season beginning Monday, June 9. Maya Jama is back at the helm, leading a refreshed panel of familiar faces and new voices poised to weigh in on the summer’s most scrutinised couplings.
Aftersun will retain its core trio—Amy Hart, Sam Thompson, and Indiyah Polack—who return as regulars after becoming fan favorites across multiple seasons. Joining the rotation this time are Joe Baggs and Ash Holme, both stepping into studio duties with fresh POVs and social followings that make them natural fits for the post-show format.
The panel will unpack weekly villa antics, bombshells, re-couplings, and exits in front of a live audience, continuing the show’s push toward real-time fan engagement. It’s all timed to coincide with the premiere of Love Island Series 12, which marks ten years since the revived format first landed in 2015.
The main show returns with Jama overseeing proceedings in the villa, with a new crop of singletons and the usual mix of engineered chaos. Following the strong digital performance of Love Island: All Stars, which drew record streaming numbers on ITVX, the network is doubling down on multi-platform extensions.
With Love Island now topping 400 nights as the most-watched show for 16-34s, ITV continues to treat the franchise as a cornerstone of its summer slate—and Aftersun remains a critical part of that equation, offering the network another weekly touchpoint with its core demo.
