Well, bless this Huntsville mess. Just when you thought the kudzu of interpersonal conflict couldn’t grow any thicker, Love & Marriage: Huntsville returns with an episode seemingly engineered in a lab to produce maximum drama. This week’s installment, “Game a’ Thrown,” sets the stage for more fireworks, tears, and awkward silences than a Huntsville city council meeting.
First up, we have the ongoing saga of Martell’s stubborn refusal to apologize to Marsau and Tisha. It’s a testament to the show’s commitment to chronicling the depths of human obstinance, and frankly, it’s getting harder to look away. How long can this strained dynamic continue? Is an actual apology forthcoming, or are we doomed to witness a perpetual cycle of resentment and recrimination? I’m starting a pool.
Then there’s Tricia, who seems to have finally accepted the reality of her divorce from Maurice. While she’s crossing the t’s and dotting the lower-case j’s on the paperwork, she’s pumping the brakes on marrying her boyfriend, Ken. One small step for legal freedom, one giant leap back from the altar, it seems. This is Love & Marriage: Huntsville, after all, not Love & Marriage: Speed Run.
Plus Melody is apparently tired of being the subject of Marsau and Tisha’s field day gossip, and she’s ready to settle the score. Expect raised voices, pointed fingers, and possibly some strategically deployed shade. Let’s just hope nobody spills their sweet tea in the process.
And finally, we have Marques, whose behavior at a BBQ is described as “strange and awkward.” This, from a group that sets the bar for interpersonal awkwardness somewhere in the stratosphere. Whatever Marques pulls off, it must be truly spectacular to warrant this level of attention. Is it a new relationship? A bizarre business venture? A sudden and inexplicable devotion to competitive BBQing? The possibilities are endless, and knowing this crew, probably highly improbable.
Love & Marriage: Huntsville airs Saturdays at 8/7c on OWN.
