Filming for Season 2 of the Logie Award-winning LOVE ME has started in Melbourne, Victoria. LOVE ME is the first Australian original produced for BINGE.

All of the main cast members return for Season 2 of the show, which received the most nominations for best drama at this year’s Logie Awards.

With its exploration of modern love by different family members at three distinct times of life, Season 2 picks up the story of The Mathiesons family, with Hugo Weaving returning as Glenn, the father experiencing new love in his 60s; Bojana Novakovic, the highly successful, yet complicated Clara; and William Lodder, as Aaron, facing the complexities of love, and new responsibility. They are joined again by Silver Logie award-winning Heather Mitchell as Anita; Bob Morley as Peter;  Celia Pacquola as Sacha; Shalom Brune-Franklin as Ella;and Mitzi Ruhlmann as Jesse.

One of Australia’s most exciting up-and-coming creative talents, Bonnie Moir, joins the LOVE ME team as director for season two.

Bonnie has collaborated with eminent directors such as Garth Davis on the critically acclaimed The Cry and Penguin Bloom and the award-winning feature films Lion, Mary Magdalene, and FOE.

We’re Not Here, which had its world premiere at MIFF and was executive produced by John Logan (Skyfall, Gladiator), and Not Dark Yet, starring Richard Moir and Nick Denton, are two of Bonnie’s short films.

BINGE Executive Director, Alison Hurbert-Burns, said: “We are thrilled to be back shooting in Melbourne for the next chapter of LOVE ME, with our incredible cast, and creative team. Season one resonated with Australian viewers and we can’t wait to pick up the story of The Mathiesons as they realise that with the euphoria of love, comes the complexities of relationships.”

Warner Bros. International Television Australia Managing Director, Michael Brooks, said: “We are so proud to begin production on LOVE ME Season two, off the back of our hugely successful debut series that connected so well with Australian audiences. All credit for the success of this stunning series goes to our unbelievably talented cast, our superb writing teams and our passionate, dedicated crew. I want to thank BINGE and the Foxtel Group for continuing to support and promote local drama.”

Production has now begun across various locations in Melbourne and regional Victoria. The series will be available to BINGE and FOXTEL customers.

Commissioned by the FOXTEL Group, distributed by DCD Rights in association with VicScreen, LOVE ME is produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia. The series is produced by Nicole O’Donohue, with lead writers, Leon Ford and Tamara Asmar, with Adele Vuko and Celia Pacquola each penning an episode. Executive Producers are Michael Brooks, Hamish Lewis (Warner Bros. Australia) Brian Walsh, Alison Hurbert-Burns and Lana Greenhalgh (FOXTEL Group).

The second season of Love Me will air on BINGE in 2023.
