Just before taking the stage as a headliner at Glastonbury’s Other Stage, Mercury Prize-nominated rapper Loyle Carner is set to trade rhymes for bedtime tales. Carner will read “I Touched the Sun” by Leah Hayes for CBeebies Bedtime Story, airing Monday, June 23, 2025, at 6:50 PM on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.
Carner shared that the book holds a special place in his home, a regular read for his son and daughter. This appearance kicks off a special week of Bedtime Stories recorded live from Glastonbury, with a lineup of artists scheduled to read throughout the week.
The Glastonbury-themed week continues with readings from other artists who performed at last year’s festival. Abigail Morris takes the spotlight on Tuesday, June 24, followed by Sampha on Wednesday, June 25. The Streets’ Mike Skinner will read on Thursday, June 26. Starting Friday, June 27, CBeebies will air new stories directly from Worthy Farm, with surprise celebrity readers announced on social media.
For those looking to catch up, past Glastonbury Bedtime Stories featuring musicians such as Guy Garvey, Tim Booth, Arlo Parks, and Alexis Taylor are available on BBC iPlayer. This move to blend musical talent with children’s programming extends CBeebies’ efforts to support families, aligning with their recently launched CBeebies Parenting platform, which gives advice and resources for parents and carers. The BBC remains Glastonbury’s only broadcast partner, giving wide coverage of the festival across its many platforms in June and July.
