Just when you thought Saint Victoire couldn’t get any quirkier, a murder at the Christmas market throws a festive wrench into the works. In the holiday special of “The Madame Blanc Mysteries,” a puppeteer named Frederick meets an untimely end, a blood-soaked Guignol puppet clutched in his hand. Because nothing says Christmas like a homicide with a side of puppetry.
As Jean investigates, the list of suspects grows longer than Santa’s naughty list. Frederick’s son, Christian; his ex-wife, Joanna; and her new husband, Hans, all seem to have secrets tucked away tighter than Christmas presents. Jean, with her uncanny knack for observation, quickly picks up on the simmering family tensions. It’s beginning to look a lot like homicide.
Adding to the holiday drama, Judith receives a Christmas card that’s less than jolly. The card reveals a truth about her past marriage that’s sure to shake things up. Meanwhile, Dom is simply thrilled to be spending Christmas Eve with Jean.
