In the fifth episode of Made in Korea: The K-Pop Experience, airing on BBC One, the band consisting of Blaise, Dexter, James, Olly, and Reese focus on enhancing their stamina for performances. K-Pop idol Shindong believes that a military-style boot camp will be the ideal way to boost their fitness and enrols them in an intensive programme led by Sergeant Choi Young Jae, a former special services commander and presidential bodyguard. The boys will need to endure rigorous training and meet Sergeant Choi’s high standards.
Plus, the band has the task of performing a ballad, their first, written by internationally celebrated hitmaker Wayne Hector, known for his work with prominent music groups. Without choreography to fall back on, the band must rely solely on their vocal abilities to impress K-Pop creator Hee Jun Yoon.
Dexter, facing a torrent of critical feedback from the training team, intensifies his vocal practice in an effort to improve. As the band’s K-Pop journey nears its conclusion, they receive heartfelt video messages from their loved ones. However, Hee Jun has a surprise evaluation and stamina test in store, pushing the band beyond their comfort zone and testing their resilience in unprecedented ways.
