Channel 7 is stepping up its cricket game, locking in exclusive Australian rights to stream every match of the 2025 Major League Cricket season live and free on 7plus Sport, with the final also airing on 7mate.
The multi-year deal kicks off Friday, June 13 at 9:00 AM AEST with San Francisco Unicorns vs. Washington Freedom and runs through to the final on Monday, July 14. All 34 matches will be streamed on-demand via 7plus Sport, giving local fans a front-row seat to the fast-growing U.S.-based T20 competition.
Anchored by big-name Australian players including David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, and Steve Smith, the MLC is building serious international traction in only its second year. The lineup also includes a strong Aussie contingent with Mitchell Marsh, Marcus Stoinis, Xavier Bartlett, Matthew Short, and Jake Fraser-McGurk among others suiting up across the six franchises.
Former Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting returns to the coaching arena as head coach of Washington Freedom, which will be one of the headline clubs to watch.
The play from Seven broadens its cricket footprint into the winter months, building on its Indian summer coverage and keeping cricket in the national conversation year-round. Renée Quirk, Seven’s Commercial Director, Sport, called the MLC deal the beginning of a long-term partnership.
Teams competing in the MLC are based in Dallas, San Francisco, Seattle, New York City, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C., with a growing international broadcast footprint that now includes Australia thanks to this new alliance with Seven.
