Australian football fans can now chase away the Monday blues with live, free-to-air Major League Soccer (MLS) action on SBS. A new agreement brings selected MLS “Sunday Night Soccer” matches to Australian screens every Monday morning. The next match to air is Messi’s Inter Miami against Atlanta United on March 17.
Here’s the Lowdown: SBS Sport has secured a deal to broadcast a featured MLS match each week, live on SBS VICELAND and streaming on SBS On Demand. The coverage runs from now until October 6th. This gives Aussie fans access to stars like Lionel Messi (Inter Miami), Luis Suarez (Inter Miami), Marco Reus (LA Galaxy), and Hugo Lloris (LAFC), as well as six Australian players currently in the league.
What This Means Now: This is the first time MLS games will be available live and free-to-air in Australia, giving a broader audience access to the growing league. With games airing on Monday mornings, it fills a gap in the sports schedule and provides a unique offering for football fans.
The Bigger Picture: This deal adds to SBS’s expanding football portfolio, which already includes South American CONMEBOL FIFA World Cup 2026™ qualifiers, The Weekly Football Wrap show, and a dedicated “Road to FIFA World Cup 2026™” hub on SBS On Demand. It also builds anticipation for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, which SBS will broadcast exclusively. Fans can also access every MLS game with no blackouts via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
