BBC One’s “Make It at Market” returns this Thursday, offering a helping hand to aspiring entrepreneurs trying to turn their crafting passions into profitable businesses. This time, the spotlight shines on two very different artists: Tiana, a crocheter from London, and Pip, a ceramic artist from Lancashire.
Tiana, whose crochet business has been struggling, seeks guidance from host Dom Chinea and mentor Jeanette Sloan. Jeanette believes Tiana’s work has a strong sense of identity but needs a pricing overhaul to really succeed. Meanwhile, Pip, a talented ceramicist, hopes mentor Stuart can help her find the confidence to market and sell her creations, turning her artistic talent into a thriving enterprise.
“Make It at Market” follows each maker’s eight-week journey as they put their mentors’ advice into action. It’s a show about more than just making things; it’s about building a business, finding your niche, and understanding the marketplace. Filmed in Leicestershire, the show adds a touch of local charm to the entrepreneurial endeavors. Each maker has eight weeks to implement their mentor’s advice and build their business. Dom Chinea and his team of experts set tasks to see if they can assess if the amateurs have what it takes.
Tune in to BBC One at 3:45 PM on Thursday, March 6th to see if Tiana and Pip can make their craft dreams a reality.
