Mobeen Deen returns to BBC Three this Thursday, and if the title “Tainted Love” is any indication, things in Small Heath are about to get complicated. The perpetually hapless but well-meaning Mobeen finds his carefully laid plans going sideways as his attempt to reach Aqsa hits a snag. Just what kind of snag remains a mystery, but knowing Mobeen, it’s probably something involving a rogue samosa, a misplaced package, or perhaps an unexpected run-in with the local constabulary.
Plus, Uncle Shady, a man whose advice is usually as sound as a rusty trombone, offers Mobeen a “drastic solution.” Given Uncle Shady’s track record, this probably involves something highly illegal, morally questionable, and almost certainly guaranteed to backfire spectacularly.
But there’s a glimmer of hope on the horizon. A surprise visit from someone familiar to Mobeen suggests a possible way out of his current mess. Will this mystery guest be a help or a hindrance? Tune in to BBC Three on Thursday, 1 May at 9:00 PM to find out.
