In the eighth episode of Marcus in the Med: Mallorca, chef Marcus Wareing explores the island’s breakfast offerings and shares his own take on a Mallorcan morning meal.
Wareing starts his day with a culinary exploration of traditional Mallorcan breakfast dishes. He discovers the local favourite of tomato toast, a simple yet delicious combination of ripe tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, and garlic rubbed on rustic bread. Wareing also indulges in the island’s iconic pastry, the ensaimada, a sweet and fluffy treat often enjoyed with a cup of coffee.
Inspired by the flavours of Mallorca, Wareing creates his own breakfast dish: baked eggs with spinach and chorizo. He demonstrates how to prepare this hearty and flavourful meal, perfect for a leisurely morning.
