Marlon Wayans to Guest Star on CBS’s ‘Poppa’s House’ This February

Poppa's House Key Art

CBS’s Poppa’s House is about to get a whole lot funnier—and possibly a little more chaotic. Marlon Wayans is set to guest star on the sitcom this February, joining his brother, Damon Wayans, and nephew, Damon Wayans Jr., for what promises to be a memorable family affair. Wayans will play Melvin, Poppa’s (Damon Wayans) ne’er-do-well brother, who bursts back onto the scene with yet another “brilliant” business scheme.

While Poppa’s well-honed skepticism is instantly triggered, Ivy (Essence Atkins) and Junior (Damon Wayans Jr.) are cautiously optimistic about Melvin’s supposed change of heart and entrepreneurial spirit. Whether this new venture is another one of Melvin’s harebrained misadventures or a genuine opportunity for redemption will undoubtedly be the source of much comedic tension. Viewers can anticipate a classic Wayans-style blend of humor, heart, and family dynamics, potentially cranked up to eleven given the real-life relationships at play.

Poppa’s House centers on Damon Wayans’ character, a popular radio host facing the trials of a new, and opinionated, female co-host and family life. At home he contends with the challenges of raising his now grown son. The arrival of his brother looks likely to throw an interesting wrench into the works.

For Marlon Wayans, this guest appearance comes amidst a flurry of other projects. He’s currently entertaining audiences with his Wild Child Tour. Beyond the stand-up circuit, he’s attached to the psychological sports thriller HIM and is apparently spearheading a reboot of the Scary Movie franchise. Because there aren’t enough of those already?

Poppa’s House airs Mondays at 8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT on CBS.
