The second series of the UKTV original drama, The Marlow Murder Club, has a confirmed launch date. The six-part series, featuring Samantha Bond, Jo Martin, Cara Horgan, and Natalie Dew, will debut with a double-bill of episodes on Wednesday, March 19th, and will be available on U.
Here’s the Lowdown: The new series presents three new two-part murder mysteries. The returning cast includes Samantha Bond as Judith Potts, Jo Martin as Suzie Harris, Cara Horgan as Becks Starling, and Natalie Dew as DCI Tanika Malik. A number of guest stars join the show. Tom Stourton, Caroline Langrishe and James Wilby appear in the opening two episodes, while Nina Sosanya, Andrew Knott, Patrick Robinson and Samantha Womack join for episodes three and four. Episodes five and six feature appearances from Hugh Quarshie, Elizabeth Bennett, Camilla Beeput, and James Gaddas.
What This Means Now: Fans of the first series can now look forward to the return of the amateur sleuthing trio on March 19th at 8pm on U&Drama. The double-bill premiere means instant gratification, with two episodes available right away.
The Bigger Picture: The show features unusual crimes in the apparently tranquil town of Marlow. From a locked-room mystery in a mansion to a murder in a cul-de-sac and a suspicious accident at a sailing club, the mysteries faced by Judith, Becks, and Suzie cover all walks of Marlow society. The series continues to explore the relationship between the amateur detectives and DCI Tanika Malik, as they assist in her official investigations. The show is adapted from the books by Robert Thorogood, who also writes for the TV show along with Lucia Haynes and Julia Gilbert.
