The Masked Singer Goes Nuts for Thanksgiving, Double Elimination Looms (FOX, Thursday, November 28, 2024)

The Masked Singer Key Art

Is there anything more quintessentially American than combining Thanksgiving, Peanuts, and a reality singing competition where celebrities wear elaborate costumes? Probably. But FOX clearly thinks this is a winning formula, and who am I to argue? So grab your turkey, stuffing, and Snoopy-themed pajamas, because The Masked Singer is serving up a Thanksgiving feast of absurdity with a “Peanuts” themed episode. Naturally, the producers have crammed this episode with the standard Masked Singer chaos: Group C finals, Thanksgiving-themed clues, a “Battle Royale,” and a double elimination.

This isn’t just any episode, it’s a “Peanuts Night,” which means Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the gang will be making cameos throughout. Whether they’ll offer any insight into the singers’ identities is anyone’s guess, but I’m prepared for disappointment. The contestants will attempt to impress the panel with renditions of “I Hope You Dance,” “Holiday,” and “Ho Hey” – choices so varied as to be almost completely random.

As if the singers and “Peanuts” characters weren’t enough, judges Rita Ora and Robin Thicke will treat us to a performance of “You Make My Dreams Come True.”

As this is the Group C finals, two singers will be unmasked and sent home, which raises the question – what happens to the giant costume heads? Are they donated to museums? Sold on eBay? I need answers. Host Nick Cannon will oversee the festivities, while panelists Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Rita Ora, and Robin Thicke offer their usually insightful commentary. I say “insightful” with the understanding that we’re talking about The Masked Singer. Let’s not set expectations too high.
