The Matlock series premiere introduces the audience to the brilliant septuagenarian Madeline “Matty” Matlock (Kathy Bates), who, after a successful early career, decides to re-enter the professional world at a prestigious law firm. With her unassuming manner and strategic approach, she takes on cases and exposes corruption from within.
Matty is paired with Olympia (Skye P. Marshall), a senior attorney and influential figure within the firm, known for her unwavering pursuit of justice. Olympia’s ex-husband, Julian (Jason Ritter), the son of the firm’s leader, is won over by Matty’s intellect and unique abilities.
As Matty gets used to her new surroundings, she collaborates with the firm’s younger associates, including the charismatic Billy (David Del Rio) and the ambitious Sarah (Leah Lewis). Together, they tackle challenging cases and strive to make their mark in the high-stakes legal arena.
