Max has announced its programming lineup for November, featuring a variety of new shows and documentaries. One of the highlights is the debut of the Max Original comedy series “Bookie” on November 30th. Created by Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay, the show follows veteran Los Angeles bookie Danny as the potential legalization of sports gambling in California threatens his business. With the help of his friends and family, Danny must navigate the changing landscape while making risky bets of his own.

Another Max Original returning for its second season is “Rap Sh!t,” which follows two high school friends from Miami as they form a rap group. Shawna and Mia must decide whether to stay true to themselves or conform to the demands of the music industry.

The second season of “Julia” continues the story of Julia, a trailblazing cooking show host, as she grapples with her rising celebrity and the impact it has on her personal and professional life. Julia and her team must navigate challenges while continuing to spearhead female-driven public television.

HBO Original Documentaries also have some exciting releases in November. “Albert Brooks: Defending My Life” explores the career of Albert Brooks, a major force in American comedy since the late 1960s. The documentary features testimonials from comedy talents and explores the origins and evolution of Brooks’ career.

“South to Black Power” is inspired by Charles Blow’s book and calls for a reverse “great migration” of African Americans from the North back to the South. The documentary explores the idea of reclaiming land, political representation, and culture to transform the power structure in America.

Magnolia Network’s “Fixer Upper: The Hotel” follows Chip and Joanna Gaines as they renovate a historic building in Waco, Texas, into a boutique hotel. The show showcases their love for hospitality, restoration, and their home city.

Lastly, the Max Original documentary “Little Richard: I Am Everything” tells the story of Richard Penniman, the Black queer originator of rock n’ roll. The film explores his life, artistry, and the challenges he faced as he tried to express himself in a world that tried to put him in a box.

In addition to these shows and documentaries, “Gumbo Coalition” follows civil rights leaders Marc Morial and Janet Murguía as they work to empower African American and Latino American communities during four turbulent years in America.
