The stakes are higher—and messier—as Prime Video queues up Season 2 of its German YA breakout Maxton Hall – The World Between Us, set to drop Friday, November 7. The boarding school melodrama picks up right where it left off, with Ruby and James’s romance already under siege.
Based on Mona Kasten’s second novel in the Maxton Hall trilogy, Save You, the new season pivots from teenage fantasy to emotional fallout. After that Oxford night that ended Season 1, James (Damian Hardung) is reeling from a major shift in his family—one that pushes him to lash out at Ruby (Harriet Herbig-Matten) just as things seemed to click. She’s left gutted, wondering if life before Maxton Hall was simpler—and maybe better.
James, of course, tries to pull her back in. Ruby’s caught between the life she wants and the one that keeps pulling her off course.
The series, which has quietly built a loyal global fanbase, returns with key cast Sonja Weißer, Ben Felipe, and Fedja van Huêt, alongside new faces Runa Greiner, Justus Riesner, and Andrea Guo. Martin Schreier is back in the director’s chair, with Markus Brunnemann and Ceylan Yildirim producing. The project was again backed by the German Motion Picture Fund.
Maxton Hall joins a growing slate of international dramas punching above their weight on Prime Video, continuing its play for YA audiences in the post-Red, White & Royal Blue lane.
