Paramount+’s gritty prison drama, Mayor of Kingstown, is bolstering its ranks for Season 4 with the addition of Edie Falco, Lennie James, and Laura Benanti. The casting news injects fresh blood into the series, which received a fourth-season renewal in December 2025.
Falco, known for her Emmy-winning performance as Carmela Soprano in The Sopranos and her Golden Globe-winning role as Jackie Peyton in Nurse Jackie, steps into the role of Nina Hobbs, Anchor Bay’s new prison warden. One can only assume that Hobbs will be a force to be reckoned with, given Falco’s track record of portraying complicated women in positions of authority.
James, recognizable from his work on The Walking Dead and Save Me, joins as Frank Moses, a highly regarded Detroit gangster. His presence adds another shade of gray to a series already steeped in moral ambiguity. How Moses’s path intersects with the McLusky family remains to be seen, but it’s unlikely to be a cordial encounter.
Rounding out the trio of newcomers, Benanti (Younger, Gossip Girl) takes on the role of Cindy Stephens, a freshly minted correctional officer. Benanti’s comedic background might seem at odds with the show’s intense subject matter, but her dramatic chops suggest she’s capable of holding her own in Kingstown’s harsh environment.
The series, co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, continues to revolve around the McLusky family, who wield considerable influence in a Michigan town dominated by the prison industry. Returning cast members include Jeremy Renner, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, and Emma Laird.
While a premiere date for Season 4 is still under wraps, the new cast additions offer plenty of fodder for speculation. Will these characters shake up the existing power structure? Will they become allies or adversaries to the McLuskys?
