In the fourth episode of Merseyside Detectives: The Murders of Ashley and Olivia, investigators make a breakthrough in the case of Ashley Dale’s murder. They seize an encrypted phone belonging to the suspected mastermind, revealing messages that indicate contact with a lieutenant in his organised crime gang.
The messages provide crucial evidence, showing discussions about purchasing drugs and, notably, the same type of gun used in Ashley’s shooting. The police now face the challenge of gathering sufficient evidence to charge all four men suspected of her murder. Will any of the suspects break their code of silence?
Meanwhile, Olivia Pratt-Korbel’s case progresses to trial. The suspect maintains his innocence, insisting that he has been framed. Olivia’s mother, Cheryl, pens a heartfelt victim impact statement, sharing the profound grief of losing her young daughter. However, the suspect refuses to attend the sentencing, prompting Cheryl to embark on a mission to change the law, driven by her daughter’s memory.
