MGM+ Orders New ‘Robin Hood’ Drama Series for 2025 Premiere

MGM+ is bringing back Robin Hood in a new version of the oft told story which will offer a fresh take on the classic tale of the infamous outlaw. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television, with John Glenn serving as showrunner and Jonathan English directing. Both Glenn and English will also contribute as writers and executive producers, joined by Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures, with Carly Kleinbart and Nicole Bryant overseeing the project.

The ten-episode first season of Robin Hood is set to begin filming in February at PFI Studios in Serbia. The narrative reimagines the legendary story, emphasizing the romantic relationship between Robin Hood and Lady Marian against the backdrop of historical events following the Norman invasion of England.

The series will highlight Rob’s evolution into a leader of rebel outlaws as Marian negotiates the political landscape to challenge corruption and advocate for justice.

Robin Hood is scheduled to premiere on MGM+ in the United States and will also be accessible to audiences in the U.K., Italy, Germany, Spain, Latin America, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
