After thirteen years, countless multi-million dollar deals, and enough manufactured drama to fill several mansions, Josh Altman is hanging up his “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles” hat. In a recent interview with People, Altman confirmed his departure, citing a desire to spend more time with his family and the feeling that it was simply “time to close that chapter.”
The show’s fifteenth season wrapped up recently, and with production currently on hiatus, the timing makes sense. Altman emphasized that the decision was purely personal, unrelated to any on-set squabbles or behind-the-scenes tensions. He even went so far as to praise the show’s producers and crew, which, in the world of reality TV, is practically a declaration of love.
Altman joined MDLLA back in 2011, a fresh-faced agent eager to make a name for himself in the cutthroat world of Los Angeles real estate. Over the years, viewers watched him rise through the ranks, negotiate increasingly lavish deals, and deal with the inevitable interpersonal conflicts that come with sharing screen time with other outsized personalities. His wife, Heather, also became a fixture on the show, adding a personal touch to the high-stakes world of luxury real estate.
While Altman’s exit marks a significant shift for MDLLA, it’s worth noting that the franchise isn’t exactly new to cast shakeups. Fredrik Eklund, a crossover star from “Million Dollar Listing New York,” departed the franchise in 2022. And let’s not forget the ever-rotating cast of supporting agents who have come and gone over the years. So, while Altman’s departure will leave a void, the show will likely go on, finding new personalities to fill the luxury real estate shaped hole in our hearts.
“Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles” is produced by World of Wonder Productions for Bravo. Executive producers are Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, and Danielle King.
