Sunday night’s episode of “My Kitchen Rules” (MKR) on Channel 7 took an unexpected turn as modern Italians Simone and Viviana faced a dessert disaster, despite an impressive near-perfect entrée. Their Instant Restaurant, Sotto le Stelle (Under the Stars), kicked off with a Ricotta and Prawn Cannoli Salati entrée, earning a perfect score of 10 from judge Colin.

Simone declared, “If you twist a tradition, you must nail it,” setting high expectations for their Italian-inspired dishes. The main dish, Tagliatelle Ragu Di Polpo (Octopus), lived up to the hype, with Viviana shedding tears of joy as Colin and Manu praised their innovative pasta dish.

However, the night took a turn when Viviana realized she had forgotten flour in the Pistachio Tortino dessert, resulting in an uncooked dish. In a desperate move, Simone and Viviana asked teams to share desserts, while the judges received individual portions.

Manu acknowledged, “In all my years ofMKR we’ve never had this type of trouble before, it has never happened before in the competition.”

The drama continued as Mike questioned Simone’s status as a home cook, revealing he works in a restaurant. Simone and Viviana defended themselves, insisting Simone is not a professional chef.

Despite the dessert mishap, Simone and Viviana’s overall score of 74 out of 110 highlighted their culinary prowess.
