The History Channel is bringing back its longest-running franchise for a new three-part television event. Modern Marvels: WWII (a working title) is set to premiere in the spring of 2026, marking the first new installment of the iconic series in years. The project comes from Hearst Media Production Group.
The new series will focus specifically on the engineering and technological innovations that defined the Second World War. The production will examine the machines, weapons, and inventions that shaped the course of the conflict and continue to have an impact today.
“Bringing this iconic series back allows us to celebrate its legacy while exploring one of the most defining events of the 20th century, when necessity and invention changed history forever,” said Eli Lehrer, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming for The HISTORY Channel. Executive producers for the project include Rob O’Brien, David Doyle, and Angelica Rosas McDaniel for HMPG, with Jim Pasquarella serving as executive producer for the network.
