In the third episode of Moonflower Murders, Susan (Lesley Manville) heads to London to look into Alan Conway’s (Conleth Hill) knowledge of the Frank Parris murder. However, DS Locke (Daniel Mays) catches up with her and advises her to stay clear of the case.
The episode uncovers spying, a Ponzi scheme, and an affair as potential motives in the murder of Melissa James.
As the story unfolds, we find that Susan, having left her publishing career behind, is living a peaceful life in Crete with her long-time partner, Andreas.
This tranquility is disrupted when she becomes entangled in a murder mystery that occurred eight years ago at a British country hotel. Alan Conway, an author Susan was editor for, visited the hotel and penned a novel inspired by the events that transpired there.
Cecily Treherne, a young woman associated with the hotel, read the book and questioned the arrest, believing the wrong man was blamed. With Cecily now missing, Susan is determined to unravel the secrets hidden within the novel and find Cecily before time runs out.
Moonflower Murders airs Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 9:00 p.m. on PBS.
