The Moonshiners are gearing up to give viewers a spirited history lesson! The Moonshiners embark on a fun-filled search for the mythical lost liquors of America’s history in an all-new spinoff series, MOONSHINERS: AMERICAN SPIRIT... Along the way, you’ll learn a little about our country’s past. They’re on a quest to keep American spirits alive, and they’re not going to stop at any liquor (or history lesson)!

MOONSHINERS: AMERICAN SPIRIT premieres on Discovery on Wednesday, April 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Moonshiners Tim and Howard will travel throughout the United States each week to rediscover legendary liquors that have been lost to the passage of time. They’ll rebuild historic pot stills with fellow Moonshiner Tickle and reproduce secret mash bills in a gutsy attempt to taste American spirits that would otherwise be lost to history, unearthing dusty bottles and hidden recipes.

The Moonshiners will learn about the origins of each spirit and its place in history in each episode, which will focus on a single libation – from Benjamin Franklin’s booze in Philadelphia to Franklin Roosevelt’s hidden moonshine in Georgia. This is history like you’ve never experienced before…

Viewers also won’t want to miss the all-new MASTER DISTILLER TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS beginning Wednesday, April 27 @ 9PM ET/PT. Each week in the tournament, the top legal and outlaw champions in the history of Master Distiller – Richard, Amanda, Tater, and Mena – compete against still-hand champions, Howard and Daniel, in a four-episode grand elimination tournament.

Joining judges Mark, Digger and Tim are special guest judges Josh Owens, Henry Law, Mark Rogers, Danielle Parton and Popcorn Sutton’s spouse, Pam Sutton.

MOONSHINERS: AMERICAN SPIRIT is produced for Discovery Channel by Magilla Entertainment. Executive producers for Magilla Entertainment are Matthew Ostrom, Laura Palumbo Johnson, Jason Fox, Eric Duncan and Kevin Allgood, with Josh Abrahamson and Amy Raugust serving as co-executive producers and Chris Tetens serving as consulting executive producer.
