Moonshiners Key Art

In this episode of Moonshiners, the Virginia boys attempt a 500-gallon bootleg under the cover of Tickle’s new restaurant and Josh’s new business. Meanwhile, Jerry designs a waterless still, and Tim and Howard make rum from corn stalks.

The episode, “Boldest Bootleg,” airing on Discovery on Tuesday, April 9, sees the Virginia boys embark on a bold 500-gallon bootleg. To keep their operation under wraps, they take advantage of Tickle’s new restaurant and Josh’s new business as fronts.

Tickle, who has been campaigning to legalize home distilling, is also keeping busy with his new restaurant venture. Meanwhile, his partner in moonshining, Tim, is back in Virginia to fill a large order. Tim, a third-generation Virginian, has turned his family’s 100-year-old secret recipe into a national brand called Climax Moonshine.

Elsewhere, Jerry, a natural engineer with a talent for solving mechanical problems, designs a waterless still. Jerry, who joined the show in season 7, is based in North Carolina and has a background in moonshining, having learned the trade from his partner, Mike.

Also featured in this episode are Howard, a shirtless, overall-wearing moonshiner, and Richard, a Louisiana native who puts his knowledge of native plants and herbs to use in his distilling.

As the Virginia boys execute their bootleg, they must be mindful of law enforcement.
