This week on Mountain Men, the weather takes center stage, as it often does when your reality show involves braving the elements in remote locations. A whiteout descends upon Alaska’s North Slope, which one imagines makes caribou hunting slightly more challenging than usual.
Unless Lauro has some sort of superhuman caribou-detecting radar, I suspect this expedition will involve a lot of stumbling around in the snow and questioning his life choices.
Elsewhere, Bret and Ivy find themselves buried under a heavy snowfall. They’re attempting to set their 230-mile trapline, which, even without the added snowdrift challenge, sounds like a monumental undertaking. One can only hope they have a good supply of hot cocoa and an even better sense of direction.
Meanwhile, Daniel is hunting deer from his floating cabin. Because apparently, hunting on solid ground is for amateurs. And then there’s Jake, who is leading the pack on a lion hunt. A “massive tomcat” is mentioned, which hopefully refers to a mountain lion and not some sort of supersized feral house cat. Finally, Paul is taking a bush plane to scout new territory. One wonders if he’ll find anything less treacherous than the locations currently occupied by his fellow mountain men.
