It’s a familiar tale as old as time – or at least as old as the Premier League. Partners glued to the telly, oblivious to the mounting pile of laundry and the increasingly desperate cries of “Whose turn is it to empty the dishwasher?!” In this week’s Mums on Strike, the age-old domestic battle reaches a fever pitch, and frankly, it’s about time.
Mairead has finally reached her limit with Lee’s football fixation. One too many missed dinners, one too many ignored requests for help, and the simmering resentment boils over. Let’s just say Lee might find his matchday routine disrupted by, well, the absence of a functioning household. It’s a classic case of “You don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone,” and Lee’s about to get a crash course in Domesticity 101.
Meanwhile, Rosie is waging her own war against the tyranny of unequal division of labor. Vidal, it seems, has perfected the art of selective hearing when it comes to chores and childcare. Rosie’s not asking for a medal, just a hand with the basics, which apparently is too much to ask. So, Rosie’s throwing in the towel – or rather, the dishtowel – to show Vidal exactly what he’s taking for granted.
Will Lee finally tear his eyes away from the screen long enough to realize the chaos he’s created? Can Vidal be rehabilitated from his domestic negligence? This Monday’s Mums on Strike offers a front-row seat to the marital mayhem.
Mums on Strike airs Monday, December 9, 2024 at 9 pm on 5STAR.
