The fifth episode of Murder By Medic, a documentary series exploring cases of medics who break their oath and turn to murder, profiles William George Davis, an American serial killer and former nurse. William George Davis, born on 3 February 1984, was convicted of capital murder for killing patients with air injections as they recovered from heart surgery. This episode examines the disturbing actions of William Davis, a former nurse who injected air into the brains of his patients, leading to their deaths.
From 2017 to 2018, Davis caused unexplained complications for multiple patients following heart surgeries. Doctors eventually discovered air in the patients’ brains, and security footage placed Davis in the patients’ rooms just before these incidents. He was fired from his job at the hospital a month before his arrest in April 2018.
Davis pled not guilty, with his defence attorney arguing that he was a convenient scapegoat. However, a Smith County jury found him guilty, and he was sentenced to death.
