Channel 5’s new whodunit, Murder Most Puzzling, rolls into its second episode this Thursday, June 26, at 8 PM. This outing finds Phyllis Logan’s Cora Felton, now quite bored with her quiet life, pulled back into the world of crime by Becky, who asks her to investigate a convicted killer’s case.
Cora, ever eager for a new challenge, meets with Darren Duggan, the man serving time for his ex-girlfriend Anita’s murder. Duggan insists he’s innocent, pointing the finger instead at Roy Gleeson. As Cora digs deeper, her inquiries catch the attention of Governor Peacock, who tries to stop her investigation. This interference only piques Cora’s suspicion.
Cora tracks Gleeson to an upscale housing complex for former soldiers, finding the once-homeless army veteran in unexpected circumstances. Her persistence quickly puts her at odds with DCI Hooper, played by Adam Best. The episode aims to uncover a dark conspiracy at the core of picturesque Bakerbury, with new details appearing that challenge the initial verdict. Charlotte Hope also appears as Sherry Carter, with Alistair Brammer guest starring as Anton Grant.
