Murder, They Hope BBC Two Premiere, 25 April 2024

Murder, They Hope arrives on BBC Two, having previously been seen on UKTV in 2021, bringing laughter and mystery to Thursday nights.

In the first episode, airing on Thursday 25 April, viewers are introduced to the unlikely duo of Gemma and Terry, played by Sian Gibson and Johnny Vegas, who have decided to leave their coach tour jobs behind and embark on a new career as private investigators. However, their investigative skills leave much to be desired.

As the episode unfolds, Gemma and Terry find themselves in possession of a valuable collector’s item, which catches the attention of the murderous Bunny Man, who will stop at nothing to get his hands on it. Gemma, determined to outwit the villain, lays a trap, while Terry leads a less-than-stellar investigation.

The series, created by the minds behind Murder on the Blackpool Express, Death on the Tyne, and Dial M for Middlesbrough, is silly but its funny. Adding to the fun is a talented supporting cast, including Gemma Wardle as Fiona, Adrian Scarborough as Jacob, Sarah Hadland as Monica, and Nitin Ganatra as Carl.

Murder, They Hope airs on BBC Two at 9.00 pm on Thursday 25 April 2024.
