Murray Gold returns as Composer to Doctor Who
Murray Gold has been a part of Doctor Who ever since Russell T. Davies brought the show back to life in 2005. He has been the show’s composer for well over a decade, and his work has been featured in some of the show’s most memorable episodes.
Murray’s contributions to the show’s new musical identity have been widely lauded, particularly his work on the theme tune and the music for the Daleks and Cybermen.
When Doctor Who returns in November for three special episodes celebrating the show’s 60th anniversary with David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor, Murray Gold will once again work with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales to compose the musical scores; the first episode featuring Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor will air over the holiday season.
What does Murray Gold say
On returning to Doctor Who, Murray Gold says: “I’m so happy to be invited back for another joyful ride in the TARDIS. I didn’t think twice. Working with Russell and his team is just a pleasure.”
