Muster Dogs: Where Are They Now? – Life Down Under, One Paw Print at a Time (ABC, Sunday, December 15, 2024)

The Dog House

The dogs are back. Again. Muster Dogs: Where Are They Now? returns, offering a glimpse into the not-so-private lives of the original series’ canine and human stars. Puppies are involved. Consider yourself warned.

In Episode 3, Lisa Millar continues her cross-country trek, this time catching up with Frank in Queensland. Frank and his canine crew—Annie, Luci, and Lucky—are still bringing joy to nursing home residents, proving that some good boys (and girls) truly are man’s best friend.

Meanwhile, Aticia’s life has undergone some downsizing since we last saw her. Motherhood and a smaller property mean fewer dogs, though Gossip, her ever-faithful companion, remains a fixture. Proof that sometimes, one good dog is all you need.

Down in Tasmania, Russ is facing a less idyllic reality. Falling sheep prices and persistent drought have hit the family business hard. It’s a reminder that farm life isn’t always picturesque sunsets and adorable animals. Still, Russ’s dog Molly continues to excel as a working dog, demonstrating that even in tough times, a reliable canine partner can make all the difference.

Then there’s Joni and Chet, still roaming the wide-open spaces. Chet’s a working dog extraordinaire and a father of four. Joni, ever the industrious cowgirl, continues her dog and stock handling schools across Australia. Clearly, some people and their dogs are just meant to be on the move.
