Growing up in a turbulent household with an abusive father, Carlton and Shantel developed an unhealthy relationship with food, using it as a coping mechanism. As a result, they have struggled with their weight since childhood, eventually reaching a breaking point where their immobility became a significant concern. With their weight impacting their ability to lead normal lives, they decide to seek help from renowned bariatric surgeon Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, or Dr. Now, as he is affectionately known.
The episode will follow the siblings as they confront their past traumas and work towards a healthier future. With the support of their loved ones, Carlton and Shantel embark on a challenging journey to qualify for weight-loss surgery. Dr. Now guides them through a strict diet and exercise regimen, encouraging them to address their emotional triggers and rebuild their sibling bond.
