My 600-Lb. Life: Where Are They Now?: Margaret & Megan (TLC, May 29, 2024)

My 600-lb Life

TLC’s My 600-Lb. Life: Where Are They Now? returns with an update on two individuals, Margaret and Megan, who are navigating their weight loss journeys. The episode, titled “Margaret & Megan,” airs on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 8:00 p.m.

Margaret Johnson, featured in season 10, started her weight loss journey at over 700 lbs, often bedridden or confined to a wheelchair. With a history of verbal abuse as a child, Margaret developed an unhealthy relationship with food, which led to her excessive weight gain. After being hospitalised for breathing problems, Margaret was put on a strict nutrition plan by Dr. Nowzaradan and managed to lose enough weight to qualify for gastric bypass surgery.

However, in the “Where Are They Now?” episode, it is revealed that Margaret and her mother relapsed into their old ways, causing concern for Dr. Now. Despite this setback, Margaret remains determined to continue her weight loss journey, and with continued dedication, she will hopefully reach her goals.

Megan, who weighed 604 lbs at the start of her journey, lived with her enabling mother and struggled with mobility due to her weight. She had an unhealthy relationship with food, which she called her “constant best friend.” Megan’s health issues were surprising for someone her age, and Dr. Now expressed concern.

Megan managed to lose weight consistently, despite her mother’s lack of support. By the end of the episode, Megan weighed 481 lbs, but her health concerns remained, and Dr. Now deemed the surgery too risky. Megan remains optimistic and motivated, determined to continue her weight loss journey and achieve her dreams of living independently and starting a career.
