In the fourth episode of the final season of My Brilliant Friend, Elena (Alba Rohrwacher) and Lila (Irene Maiorino) spend a day together in the neighborhood. Elena notices the respect Lila has earned from those around them, as well as the danger brought about by Marcello’s (Lino Musella) drug-running operation.
Suddenly, an earthquake strikes, forcing the residents to flee the city, and Lila and Elena desperately attempt to reunite with their families.
While the neighborhood holds a sense of camaraderie, with Lila held in high regard, the undercurrent of danger looms large due to Marcello’s illicit activities. The earthquake then adds a sense of urgency and chaos, as the characters deal with the challenge of finding their loved ones amid the turmoil.
