In a challenging night on Tuesday night’s My Kitchen Rules, Hannah and Lawrence found themselves at the bottom of the leaderboard after their Instant Restaurant, Missing Piece, underperformed. The evening started with tension when Janey refused to greet Lawrence, creating an uneasy atmosphere. Their entrée of Chargrilled Octopus with Roasted Capsicum and Chilli Sauce fell flat, with Manu Feildel noting it lacked something special, and Colin Fassnidge stating the sauce overpowered the octopus.

Their hopes rested on the main course, Crispy Pork Belly with Mashed Cauliflower, Vermouth Jus, and Apple Sauce. However, uneven cooking led to problems with the crackling, despite Lawrence’s last-minute attempts to fix it. While Manu rated the pork a seven, Colin felt the dish was overcomplicated, diluting its impact. Personal tensions between Janey and Lawrence persisted throughout the evening, affecting the scoring.

For dessert, Lawrence’s nostalgic Belgian Waffles with Strawberry Lime Sauce and Dark Chocolate also missed the mark. Manu called the dish “childish,” and Colin noted that waffles were not suitable for this stage of the competition. The couple’s final score was 53/110, leaving them sitting at the bottom of the table and close to elimination.
